The battle of fact and theory

"If fact doesn't fit the theory, change the fact" - said the great scientist Albert Einstein.
There are many interpretations of this quote available on Internet. The favorable (for the scientist) one says it was a sarcastic comment by the legendary scientist. They add that every phenomenon must have a human understandable explanation.
Those against it say it was a typical westerners appropriation approach to fit everything in a predefined framework of ideas. Your lack of ability to explain a fact can't deny the fact it's rightful place. If a phenomenon can't be explained, the phenomenon itself is not at fault. It is just that no one has yet reached the level of awareness that is required to understand the phenomenon.
I see this quote being used as principle in the media houses. No one now a days reports the fact. They, instead, tell you a story, a narrative, which suits their agenda. And, therefore, mine the favorable data to decorate their narrative. In this process the data/fact that doesn't suit the narrative is intentionally ignored or suppressed. The #Chrilamists #LeftistMoaists are torch bearers of this mode of Journalism. Ravish Kumar, Abhisar Sharma, Neha Pant, Abhay Dube, Anjana Om Kashyap, PP Vajapey, Om Thanvi, Burkha Dutt, Sagarika, Rajdeep, Rana ayyub, Shobha de, Arati Jayrath, kavita Krishnan.... the list is long. One may wonder in what context Einstein would have made that statement but application of that one liner has devastating effect, irrespective of the field.
